Qantas Empire Airways
Boeing 707-138B V-Jet VH-EBA
Delivered in 1959, VH-EBA was the first Qantas Boeing 707. From 1961 new Qantas 707s were delivered from Boeing with fan jet engines. The older aircraft were retrofitted with fan jets and designated 707-138B. From 1964 Qantas 707s were given a new livery with V-Jet on the tail. This was derived from ‘vannus’, Latin for fan.
