While awaiting new 737-300s, Ansett took delivery of a fleet of 737-200s to enable the airline to dispose of its Douglas DC-9s which were proving unpopular with Australian travellers. This aircraft is seen departing the Ansett terminal at Sydney (Kingsford Smith Airport in the early 1980s. The 737s soon became primary workhorses on Ansett’s busy interstate routes.
