BOAC – British Overseas Airways Corporation
Vickers VC.10 Economy Class Seat Advertisement
In the 1960s BOAC was the only major carrier operating the Vickers VC.10. Its operating economics were less attractive than the 707 or DC-8, however, political pressure had forced the state-owned airline to purchase a fleet. Passengers found the VC.10 attractive and BOAC marketed it as a more upmarket option. This advertisement promoted what BOAC claimed was the most comfortable economy class seat in the world.
