In the 1960s BOAC secured rights to fly trans-Pacific routes from Australia to the USA. To give it an advantage over Qantas and Pan Am on the fiercely competitive route BOAC deployed the Vickers VC.10 which had become a popular choice of passengers wherever it was flown. This advertisement was widely used in Australian magazines and newspapers.
