Under the ‘Two-Airlines Agreement’ TAA took delivery of the first of three 727 in 1964. At the same time on the same day, its rival, Ansett-ANA, received the first of its 727-77s. Melbourne’s Essendon Airport was host to two arrival ceremonies within a short distance of each other.
