Finnair
Douglas DC-3 Arctic Circle
Finnair was founded in 1923 under the name Aero O/Y. After World War II it began operating Douglas DC-3s to various parts of Europe. More modern aircraft took over the main routes and the DC-3s were used to service minor centres across Finland. Aero O/Y became Finnair in 1953. This image demonstrates the versatility of the DC-3, able to operate in conditions varying from hot and rugged to extreme cold and rugged.
