Air New Zealand
McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30
Air New Zealand operated DC-10s from 1976 to 1982. Initially they were popular but their reputation was sullied by a number of fatalities including the disastrous crash of an Air New Zealand DC10 into Antarctica’s Mount Erebus while on a sightseeing flight. Within two years the airline had disposed of all its DC-10s in favour of a fleet of Boeing 747s.
