Douglas Company
DC-8 Super 62 Rollout April 1967
Douglas opted to stretch the DC-8 air frame that had debuted in 1959, calling these variants the Super 60 Series. The Series 62 was the less extreme of the ‘stretched’ DC-8s in order to maximise the range the aircraft could fly. The first Super 62 was rolled out of the Douglas plant in April 1967.
